Awakening sounds

The Awakenings Ensemble is a collaborative project I have been working on with Mike Pignéguy and an army of brilliant musicians from the Qatar and Australia. The first album has been getting rave reviews and now we are planning performances and live recording sessions. I am designing my live rig with the capability to record. So hopefully I can travel over there and come back with masses of music to work on.
There is often a distance between live musicians and music producers. The live musicians don't record and the studio musicians don't play live. I hope to enable both.
Check back for updates and follow the Awakening's Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest in this amazing musical adventure. You can listen and download the album from our Bandcamp site:

subconcious themes of light and sound

I have noticed colour themes in my photos. One day I will shoot objects with a certain colour scheme. The next I will choose another. It's not intentional. I'm not photographing just flowers or just red guitars, but everything. Maybe I'm a subconscious theme junkie, or the the world has it's own themes for the day and I notice them :)

Embrace The Remix

Apple's legal battles against the world have made me a little angry. I used to be a big fan of Apple. They were the creative underdog. Something happened when Steve jobs got cancer. I think he became a meaner person. I'm not judging him, as I do not know how I would react to the knowledge of my own imminent demise, but the implications of his decisions around this time I think will have terrible effects on the world. With the world opening up in many ways and I don't think this is a place for walled gardens. Maybe it's just a reaction to the openness. This video touches on this idea:

HERE is some rare funk to get you started

Intravenous Geometry

The times they are a changing and so is my blog. I have had a lot of requests for my music and images so I am creating a smoothly curated site for them to live. Google+ and Facebook are lacking in focus. Select the 'Music' or 'Photography' pages above for an insight in my work and click above to see my current projects.

My random collection of funk fools the Cloud Kollektiv played at Luna Cinema One in Leederville, Perth at the new Wes Anderson movie premier. The lineup was just Bass (Ben Frirkin), trombone (Jonothan Brittain) and myself on beats and stuff. It kinda, went off. Download HERE

Here are some videos on of  my mild fascinations.

I dig a cool suit and I used to create my own geometric designs as a teenager. my designs were more organic than mathmatical.

Long time no post. Facebook has dominated my posts (I'm 'trilbyt') and Google+ is coming up behind. Here are some photos from my posts.
